Professional Services at The Health Recovery Clinic
What We Do and Why
Our Clinic specialises in providing treatments and therapy for people suffering from chronic illnesses that cause severe fatigue and can result in persistent headaches, cognitive issues (brain fog) and poor memory, constant muscle pain and soreness, fibromyalgia and other fatigue-related symptoms.
All our practitioners have direct and personal experience in suffering from severe fatigue-related illnesses or treating someone close to them with one
We know how difficult it is to make progress with diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome and long covid and that treating one specific symptom in isolation is often insufficient in aiding long term recovery in our patients.
People suffering from severe and long term fatigue all have different clinical factors and histories that result in the traumatic loss of a normal life, like having enough energy to work each day, socialise at night or even just get out of bed each day.
These differences make finding one cause or trigger for your severe fatigue and dysfunctional biological and physical state very difficult to identify.
At the Health Recovery Clinic, we believe in identifying the root causes of chronic illness and severe fatigue and identifying the complex relationships and medical histories that lead to placing these energy robbing burdens on your body.
This is primarily what makes finding treatments that work and improve your health within the NHS difficult and sometimes, impossible. The NHS system is based on treating health issues and diseases in isolation, one thing at a time.
We know from our extensive experience treating people with ME/CFS and long covid that this generally does not work. It is critical in our view to integrate three different areas of treatment for improving your levels of fatigue and optimising your chances of recovery.
Overcoming ME/CFS and Long Covid fatigue and Fibromyalgia pain is not easy.
From the clinical experience we have in treating patients at the health recovery clinic, we believe the most positive outcomes have been achieved by addressing three fundamental areas of clinical treatment and investigation:

Physical, Mechanical and Structural Burdens
Lymphatic system congestion, restricted movement in craniosacral system, spine, and neck, vagal nerve dysregulation, visceral and myofascial restriction, poor posture and muscle imbalance, inadequate breathing pattern and reduced diaphragm range.

Biochemical Burdens
Viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, yeast and fungal overgrowth, absorption of heavy metals, mould and mycotoxin exposure, mitochondrial dysfunction, hormone imbalances, environmental toxin exposure.

Psychological and Emotional Burdens
Stress from incidents before and since having the illness. Trauma in childhood and adulthood. Stress reduction is critical in helping reduce load on your central nervous system and managing the production of harmful hormones and toxic substances that worsen fatigue.
All of these 3 pathways are affected by our individual genetics and epigenetics, which is how our environment influences our genes.
Most of our patients that visit us have tried many different treatments during the course of their illness. Usually, starting with the NHS and then seeking out individual treatments in the hope of overcoming their severe fatigue and returning to better health and a more productive lifestyle.
But because of the complexity and the interdependencies of different systems in the body, addressing just one issue often fails to produce long term health improvements in people living with ME/CFS, fibromyalgia and long covid.
We believe from our own direct experience with chronic illness and the team’s extensive, collective, medical experience that addressing the root causes of your ill health and identifying the wide range of burdens potentially causing dysfunction and severe fatigue in your body offers patients the best pathway forward for improving their health and starting their journey of recovery.
