Debbie began her journey of the old school style of physiotherapy in 1996, what is now called Remedial Therapy in the modern world.
After sustaining a couple of netball injuries, needing rehabilitation, she decided to take the ‘hands on’ route in helping others
Years prior just after her daughter was born, she’d looked into physiotherapy, specialising in neurology… as a young parent, lack of resources held her back, until the injuries presented an opportunity …ironically, eventually working with cranial sacral therapy.
Her work at this time was physical manipulation and modalities of lymphatic drainage (Voder technique and deep lymphatics with Aus born Grace Holiday), sports therapy, electrotherapy and the Perrin technique before it was a specific course.
Two years later, due to another injury, she found herself at the hands of a cranial osteopath…”I remember being blown away by the intense and yet gentle approach and at the same time, feeling the top two vertebrae literally unwinding like a cog of a clock”.
So in 1999, she followed that passion with the Upledger institute, to the advanced level, including fascial release.
It became a passion and wanting to make a difference for her clients, it became the main body of her work.
CPD has taken her down many paths over the years including self-discovery and clinical modalities: Acupuncture, NLP, clinical hypnotherapy and some alternative healing arts.
In 2014 she qualified as a psychosexual somatics therapist, bringing all of the above therapies together, using the body based work, psychotherapeutic and the psychology aspects, for the person to understand their upbringing, conditioning, back ground and how and why they operate how they do – seeing their part in the ralational dynamic, it goes deep to the understanding of self …. using cranial and somatic work to unwind the pattern and then integration and coaching to create the change.
It’s a trauma informed process and not for the faint hearted.
Bring the person to being the best version of self …. self love really.
Just after finishing a year long course of esoteric astrology, in 2019 Debbie encountered a traumatic event that changed her life and a deeper discovery of self was needed.
“In December 2023, after my dad’s passing and supporting his end of life I had nothing else to give“.
“I had to walk my talk”.
She gave up work to do the deep dive.
… and now, with more gifts to offer, Debbie is back holding the space through lived experiences.
She is proud to have one daughter and 3 grand-boys all of which are precious.
In her spare time, she loves swimming, walking, yoga and esoteric astrology for the soul, the beach, sunshine and the curiosity of life and how people relate.
A deep desire to help people see their true self and to be the best version of themselves is at the forefront of her work …. always living that for herself.
Her work is at the intersection of body, mind, and deeper patterning.
Her approach is grounded in Craniosacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release, supporting the body to unwind held tension and restore balance within the nervous system and therefore chemical/hormonal reactions.
Alongside this, she brings a broader understanding of how physical, emotional, and relational patterns are held and expressed through the body.
With a background that includes body-based therapy, psychological awareness, and esoteric frameworks, Debbie’s work is integrative and responsive rather than formulaic. Sessions are guided by what is present for the individual, allowing both physical and underlying patterns to be recognised and supported.
Her work is trauma-informed and rooted in the understanding that the body often holds the imprint of past experiences. Through gentle, attentive holding treatment, these patterns can begin to shift — not through force, but through awareness and regulation and that part of you needing to be witnessed and held gently in its process
Debbie also brings additional training in areas of relational and psychosexual dynamics, offering a deeper sensitivity to the complexities of human experience. This informs her ability to hold space for both the physical and emotional aspects of a person’s process, while maintaining clear and grounded boundaries.
Her role is not to fix, but to help you see and feel what is already there — supporting a return to greater ease, clarity, and connection within yourself.
Debbie’s work supports:
the release of held tension within the body
improved nervous system regulation
awareness of deeper patterns and responses
a more integrated relationship between body and mind
